(Detroit, MI), Koffin Kats are a punkabilly powerhouse trio creepin' & crawlin' over your skin and slappin' that upright bass straight into your main vein. Dark and intoxicating greaser punk some may call these moonshine melodies, Koffin Kats have a song ("V8 Nightmare") on the latest incarnation of HairBall8 Records psychobilly compilation Kicked Outta Purgatory alongside such psycho luminaries as Nekromantix and Demented Are Go! Also check out Wolverine Records new Punkabilly compilation CD (available in our web store) which features the Koffin Kats track One Revived . With a horror movie backdrop, Koffin Kats twist the sounds of Elvis Presley, Misfits, and the Ramones into their very own specially-blended cocktail, fit for consumption on both hot summer days and cold winter nights. This will light your shit up kid!

Handling both upright bass and lead vocal duties for Koffin Kats is Vic Victor, a charismatic gearhead with slap happy enthusiasm for his band. When asked how to describe the music Koffin Kats play to a 10 year old kid, Vic spits out: You know the music your parents turn up real loud when they're fuckin'? That's us. Vic continues on the subject of why Koffin Kats play psychobilly in the first place: Because we can't rap. The Caucasian Invasion can't happen! .

Vic and his two partners in crime, Tommy Koffin (guitar) and Damian Detroit (drums) have thus far been able to tour about half of the country. Their best live show experiences were in Austin , TX at the Red Eyed Fly for Blood Feast II and Corona , CA at the Showcase Theatre with The Formaldehydes. The band is hungry for more road dogging so look for them in your town soon!

Musical Influences: Both kinds& Country AND Western.

Non-Musical Influences: Dead shit, drugs, bitches, booze (PBR), Carne Asadas&

Press:

My Dearest Love,
I am sorry to say, but this will be the last time you will ever hear from me. I have met another that makes my beating heart swell with joy and my panties moist with eagerness. In all honesty, I never thought a music CD could ever tear me away from you and your large inheritance, but alas, I have found the Koffin Kats . Eight original tracks of psychobilly brilliance that makes me feel young again, makes me feel alive& and have come to replace my need for you. I realize it is an entirely one-sided relationship and that this CD cannot return my love but& I will turn a blind eye to the truth and push on in dedication and stupidity. Maybe it's the freshness of the night air, the stinging guitar, or my quirky ways, but I feel this is something I need to do. Don't try to find me.
Love, Lisa - Rock-n-Roll Purgatory Magazine

Psychobilly über-bassist Vic Victor, formerly of local outfits V8 Nightmare and Solla Saloon, has once again returned to the fray with the Koffin Kats' self-titled debut. Horror-tinged, 1950s B-movie and old-school E.C. comics worship prevails, and the material ends up in Nekromantix territory. Add to that comparison the work of Deadbolt , the Cramps and even a little Dick Dale and you pretty much have the sound down pat. The material on The Koffin Kats throws down and chuggs along through the entire program - think V8 Nightmare but twice as fast. Good backup vocals, strong hooks and speedy punk drumming keep the whirlwind of sound in place. Victor's stand-up bass playing is spectacular and works perfectly as the final cohesive element. - Real Detroit Weekly

Read a write-up on Koffin Kats in the Detroit News Entertainment Insider here.

© 2011 PSYCHOBILLY*US
