HairBall8 Records signs distribution deal with Redeye Distribution,
home to labels like TKO Records, Gearhead, Gern Blandsten,
and Gold Standard Labs as well as Redeye's own imprint label Yep
Roc Records (Rev Horton Heat, Bob Mould, Nick Lowe,
Billy Bragg). Additionally, Redeye exclusively distributes and
markets such artist-run labels as Slam Jamz (Public Enemy), Mid-Fi
(Supersuckers), and Long Beach Shortbus (Sublime). On top of
that, Redeye has been voted "Best Independent Distributor of the Year"
by N.A.R.M. (National Association of Recording Merchandisers) for 2000, 2002,
2003, 2004, and 2005.
Artists on HairBall8 Records now have their songs available through iTunes, Rhapsody, SONY Connect, Napster, Yahoo, and AOL Music.
HairBall8 launches new punk label
called King Fing'r Records, co-owned and run by Destin Pledger (Concombre
Zombi, Texas Psychobilly Company). First signing is Austin, TX
based female quintet The Applicators, who will be touring the USA and
Europe this summer in support of their sophomore full-length release My
Weapon out through HairBall8/King Fing'r on July 25th. The Applicators
were recently voted "Best Unsigned Band" by Alternative
Press Magazine (Dec 2005). The band also had their song "My
Weapon" recently featured on the MTV show Parental Control.
Touted as the biggest (2-CD!) punk and psychobilly compilation CD ever, Fins
n' Needles is a project that has been in the works since 2004. A joint
effort between the various HairBall8 sub-labels, Fins n' Needles
is a labor of love being produced by King Fing'r Records head Destin
Pledger and HairBall8 Records president Ryan Davis. Artists
featured on Fins n' Needles include Lower Class Brats, Mad Sin,
Funeral Dress, Nekromantix, The Beltones, Demented Are
Go!, Krum Bums, Kings of Nuthin', Complete Control,

Applicators, Concombre Zombi, and The Last Resort.
Fins n' Needles is set to hit stores this fall!

We know it's been a long time since we've had an update. There's been a lot
going on so here's a summary:
Monday Oct 24th , 2005
JUST RELEASED! HairBall8 Records & Stay Sick Pictures presents "The
Psychobilly Sickness" DVD (Episode One) --- a 60 minute documentary focusing
on the origination and development of the psychobilly subculture. Special
attention is of course paid to the godfathers of psychobilly: The Meteors.
Featuring live footage and/or interviews with the following: P. Paul Fenech,
The Meteors, Guana Batz, Pip Hancox, Kim Nekroman, Nekromantix, Nick 13 (Tiger
Army), Geoff Kresge (HorrorPops), Mark Burke, Phantom Rockers, Asmodeus, Barnyard
Ballers, Concombre Zombi, The Koffin Kats, The Rocketz, Demon City Wreckers,
The Formaldehydes, Milwaukee Wildmen, 12 Step Rebels, Flametrick Subs, Pagan
Dead, The Starlite Wranglers, Battle of Ninjamanz, Destin Pledger, Spike Baller
and Ryan Davis. $12.99 right here in our online shop
or get this sick DVD for only $9.99 at over 600 Hot Topic stores throughout
America. Episode Two of "The Psychobilly Sickness" is currently
being edited and due out in the spring of 2006.
Also just in time for Halloween are some brand new sick CDs and shirts! New
PSYCHOBILLY*US/HairBall8 releases in our webstore from Hayride To Hell, Mad
Marge & The Stonecutters, Stitch Hopeless & The Sea Legs, Hellbats
and Zombie Ghost Train. Also check out a special new addition from one of
the first ever Cali psychobilly bands, Cosmic Voodoo (featuring Jeff Roffredo
from Tiger Army), who have just released a collection of tunes that spans
the decade known as the 90s. We also added an EP from the kookiest Russian
psychobillies you will ever hear --- Scary B.O.O.M. --- break out the vodka,
you're gonna need it. ALSO take a look a the sweet ass new Demon City Wreckers
t-shirts... get 'em while we got 'em! Buy all this stuff right
here.
August 27th, 2005
We just added a lot of new items to our online shop. We've got brand new t-shirt
designs from the Koffin Kats. We've got the brilliant and brand new
full length CD from DAG side project Demented Scumcats...which
I honestly have to say is as good as anything Demented Are Go! has
ever put out...it fargin' kicks arse yo! Speaking of bad ass side projects,
we just added a must-have CD from the most talented psychobilly super group
to ever walk the planet... The Dead Kings. With a no fail-recipe of
Koefte (Mad Sin) on vocals, Peter Sandorff (Nekromantix) on guitar, Doyley
(Klingonz, DAG) also on guitar and Strangy (Klingonz, DAG) on upright... it's
tough not to cook up a masterpiece of songwriting and sound. The best way
to describe a band like The Dead Kings CD is "raw execution of excellence...a
real treasure for anybody who's ever had their heart broken and also repaired
by rock and roll". The Dead Kings CD is simply superb and it is strongly
suggested that you pick up a copy right now so that your life can become better
instantly (well almost instantly since it takes a few days to ship the CD
to you)... but the point is that your life will become better after listening
to the Dead Kings. Click here if you're convinced.
Plenty of other goodies added to the online shops too...Split 7 Media's "Return
of the Hot Rod Zombies" compilation is now for sale which features Concombre
Zombi, Mad Marge & The Stonecutters, The Henchmen, Irish Brothers, Flametrick
Subs, The Chop Tops and Turbo ACs. And we now have arm patches
from the PSYCHOBILLY*US label and the Koffin Kats. Added some psychobilly
buttons too. Also re-stocked on Klingonz "Up Uranus" and
Os Catalepticos' "Zombification" CDs. Click here
to hit up the store.
Do not forget that you can still get Concombre Zombi's
blistering new 13 song avalanche album "Daylight Comes" right
here before it hits stores nationwide in October.
The Rocketz and Demon City Wreckers CDs continue to sell well
at Southern California and Arizona Hot Topic stores so thanks to those stores
and those fans who helped make that happen.
Expect new releases from PSYCHOBILLY*US/HairBall8 late this year and early
next year from artists like Hayride To Hell (CA), Mad Marge & The Stonecutters
(CA), Stitch Hopeless & The Sea Legs (AZ), The Formaldehydes (CA), Flesh
(CA), Zombie Ghost Train (Australia), Hellbats (France) and The Bloody Hollys.
Please also stay in the loop for a release early next year from the best all-girl
psychobilly band in America...the Deadutantes... who continue to turn heads
performing live on the west coast and in Europe with their knack for mixing
a perfect cocktail of great performance and skilled songwriting, while looking
really good while serving it up for you. These girls are the queens of costuming
in the psychobilly scene and it's always refreshing to see a band who knows
the value of both visual and musical entertainment.
Check out shows section because we got a lotta bands touring the west coast
and coming to Texas in September, October and November. The Rocketz are in
Texas next week. Zombie Ghost Train (from Australia) are in Texas the week
after that playing with Brutally Frank, Sick City Daggers and Saturday Nite
Shockers. A couple weeks after that, Hellbats (from France) invade the lonestar
state starting Oct 7th at Sam's in SA. Demon City Wreckers are in Texas (at
the same time as Hellbats) touring with Stitch Hopeless & The Sea Legs
and ScratchingTheSurface. Then Mad Marge & The Stonecutters play the lonestar
state starting Oct 12th in El Paso. All of these bands are basically doing
autumn southwest tours. Also Pagan Dead play some dates with Hellbats on their
tour including a stop at the Mad Monster Ball 2 at Knitting Factory in Hollywood
featuring the Meteors...that would be on Oct 22nd. Concombre Zombi are also
playing the Mad Monster Ball 2 and then doing a southwest and west coast tour
with Hayride to Hell starting Nov 10th in Phoenix.
Last but not least, the Stay Sick Pictures/HairBall8 documentary The Psychobilly
Sickness is finally in the can and at the manufacturing plant as we speak.
Featuring live performances and interviews with the likes of the Meteors,
Nekromantix, Nick 13 (Tiger Army), Geoff Kresge (HorrorPops), Barnyard Ballers,
The Koffin Kats, Phantom Rockers, Demon City Wreckers, The Rocketz, Guana
Batz, Asmodeus, Pagan Dead, The Formaldehydes and Concombre Zombi...it's a
psychobilly story about the love of rock n' roll music. Look for The Psychobilly
Sickness DVD at every Hot Topic store starting the first week of October...and
it's only $9.99 for a limited time mofo so get it for that price while the
getting is good. Looks for some screenings of the documentary in a few cities
on the west coast, east coast and of course here at home in Texas. Thank you
for reading and thank you to anybody who supports HairBall8, Skarnival Music,
PSYCHOBILLY*US and TX PSY.
July 20th, 2005
The time is upon us. The long awaited full-length album from the mighty Concombre
Zombi has arrived and we at HairBall8/PSYCHOBILLY*US could not
be more proud! The CD is called "Daylight Comes" and lemme tell
you, it was worth the wait. Filled to the brim with the kind of songwriting
for which only seasoned musicians could be responsible. It's that good. Is
it psychobilly? Damn straight. Is it more than idle talk of serial killers
and other abominations from hell? Yes, much more. Teenage Kicks magazine describes
Concombre Zombi as a band that "take you out to the edge of a cliff and
at the last minute haul you back in" and that's an accurate description.
Just when you feel like this album is going to drop you down a flight of stairs,
it changes up on you and takes you to a different flight of stairs to drop
your ass down. And all this is a good thing. This record is urgent and begs
to fill your ears with the sounds that monsters make when no one is around.
Buy Concombre Zombi's new album "Daylight Comes" right here
at the ridiculous sale price of $9.99 before it hits stores in the next couple
months at a higher price. If you want to hear some songs first, then take
a listen at the
band's MySpace page.
Also watch out for a track off Concombre Zombi's new album to appear on the
AMP Magazine sampler that comes free with the retail edition of the zine.
Over 50,000 of these sampler CDs with a CZ track have been pressed and inserted
into the new issue of AMP out the first week of August...and as a bonus, check
out the RAPID FIRE interview with Concombre Zombi inside the same issue. AMP
Magazine is available at over 550 Hot Topic outlets, hundreds of FYE shops,
and thousands of indie record stores throughout the country.
The Koffin Kats just finished up a successful tour with fellow
HairBall8/P*US label mates G-String, who
are touring America for the 3rd time. G-String still have a few tour dates
left so check them out with the Koffin Kats in Detroit on Friday and also
in Chicago on Saturday for the 2nd Midwest Psychobilly Gathering.
Also, if you don't already own these records yet, you can find new The
Rocketz CD at Southern California Hot Topic stores and the new
Demon City Wreckers CD at all Tucson
Hot Topic outlets. The first batch of both of those records sold out at Hot
Topic but they just re-stocked so go get 'em! Or of course, you can purchase
them right here in our webstore.
New releases coming soon from Hayride to Hell,
Stitch Hopeless & The Sea Legs, Hellbats,
and The Formaldehydes.
Thanks for reading and thanks for all of your support out there for HairBall8
and the PSYCHOBILLY*US label.

We regret that 12 Step Rebels will be unable
to make their performance for the Blood Feast III
dates in San Antonio and Dallas. We received the following explanation:
After 5 years of focusing on nothing but the band it was decided to call
a break to 12SxRx. Jakob has chosen to pursue college full time and Nate has
decided to focus on things of a personal matter as well. With those decisions,
Chad will be focusing all his attention on his other band with fellow members
of the 12SxRx family, Ian and Jefe. This project had slowly been in the works
for some time but was also put on hold like many other things in our lives
due to the demanding schedule of 12SxRx.
We want to stress to everyone who has supported the band over the years and
believed in us that we would never want this decision to take away from our
continued gratitude - we all love what this band has brought to our lives
and will always appreciate everyone we've met along the way.
Again, this is not necessarily quits for the band - we all still consider
each other family - but don't expect to see much from 12SxRx in the immediate
future at this point. If you see tour dates being advertised, unless you read
about it here it's not happening - all future touring has been put on hold
as of right now due to these events.
~12SxRx
To all the fans who are planning on coming to Blood Feast 3, thank you for
any understanding in this matter that was out of our control. In an effort
to make up for losing 12SxRx from the lineup, we have now dropped the ticket
price to $12 at the door and only $8 pre-sale (+$1 PayPal fee) in our shows
section. Thanks for your support!

NEW
REVIEW of the KOFFIN KATS "Inhumane" CD
May 02, 2005
The Lonestar State sees the debut of So Cal psychobillies The
Rocketz this week. If old school style psychobilly mixed with horror
punk flavor is your bag, it doesn't get any better than the Rocketz. If the
combo of Guana Batz, Batmobile, Stray Cats, Misfits and early Green Day sounds
like a recipe for fun to you, you will not be disappointed with the creatively
morbid lyrics and adrenalized sounds of the mighty Rocketz! Show some Texas
love for this touring psychobilly band by coming out and supporting The
Rocketz at one (or more) of the following festivities:

APRIL 2005 - PART II
April 3rd
We're very pleased and grateful for the turnout we had at our Friday April
1st show at Sam's in San Antonio with Phantom Rockers,
Blood Moon Howlers and Hellbound
Hearse. There was some healthy competition that night in town and we
want to thank the 300+ people that came out and supported psychobilly in Texas
once again!
Also this past Friday The Deadutantes played
the 17th Satanic Stomp festival in Speyer, Germany. One enthusiastic fan from
Psychobilly Online has already posted his review:
"all i need to know is this - were robin, deadutantes, and battle
of ninjamanz the most amazing spectacles of sight and sound that the world
has ever experienced?"
Also, check out these early reviews for the new Rocketz
and Koffin Kats albums:

APRIL 2005 - Part I
We're back from Vegas where PSYCHOBILLY*US and the
Texas Psychobilly Co. had a vendor booth at the
Sin City Stomp festival on March 25th and 26th. First off, props to
Peter for having the nuts to stage something like this in Vegas! Competing
with the Viva Las Vegas festival to boot! The bands on the P*US roster
turned in superlative performances at the Sin City Stomp... with plenty of
merchandise sales to back this statement up! We sold out of the Pagan
Dead CDs we brought with us. Barnyard Ballers
delivered the goods on-stage complete with a blow up penis and lettuce spitting
from Spike! But the standout award goes The Rocketz
on Friday night. This was the first time I'd seen our newly-signed act
live and I was blown away! Look for The Rocketz
to be playing live in Texas in May!
We've got a promotional special going on right now for the new Koffin Kats album "Inhumane". Buy the new Koffin Kats CD online for the regular price of $11.99 and also receive a FREE Koffin Kats comb and a FREE Koffin Kats Limited Edition "Kat Heads on Krosses" T-Shirt. Make sure when you order, you specify what size T-Shirt you want (Sm, Med, Lg, XL). While supplies last so get this deal while the gettin' is good! Visit our store here.
Come out to Sam's Burger Joint this Friday April 1st for a Psychobilly First Friday with Phantom Rockers, Hellbound Hearse and Blood Moon Howlers. $5 before 8pm, $8 after. Doors 730pm.
Thanks for reading!
MARCH 2005
First item of business is that HairBall8/PSYCHOBILLY*US along with the Texas
Psychobilly Company are vendors at the Sin
City Stomp in Las Vegas this coming weekend of March 25th and 26th. PSYCHOBILLY*US
bands like Barnyard Ballers, The
Rocketz and Pagan Dead will be performing
sets along with a massive lineup of other great psycho, rockabilly, garage
and surf bands. Check out www.SinCityStomp.com
for more info.
The new full-length albums from The Koffin Kats (Detroit) and The Rocketz (Los Angeles) are now on sale in our store for only $9.99. Look for a special promotion with the Koffin Kats next week that will include a free t-shirt and a Koffin Kats comb (to comb your fin with or slick your greased pomp with ya know!).
Tucson's Demon City Wreckers make their debut in Texas last Wednesday night (March 16th) at a club in El Paso called Surge's. The band experienced a super enthusiastic response from the El Paso psychos and punks and they will be back in El Paso this summer. You can pick up the new Demon City Wreckers full length CD titled "Inner Demons" in our store section right now. A heavy psychobilly-blend of melodic hardcore, street punk and rock n' roll this new DCW album is. Destin from TXPSY/Concombre Zombi saw DCW at our SXSW showcase this past Thursday and labeled it "psy-core" makes sense to us. Lyrics about the motives of serial killers, getting your aggressions out, loneliness, and prison rape. Just kidding about the prison rape there aren't any songs about that as far as I know. Amazing cover art by guitarist Ed Gein though! CD released through international distribution in May and a street date of June 7th, 2005.
SXSW... PSYCHOBILLY*US bands, The Koffin Kats and Demon City Wreckers, performed at the HairBall8 Records showcase during SXSW on St. Patrick's Day last week. A super turnout throughout the night and everybody had a blast... we've already been invited back to do the same thing next year for SXSW so everybody was happy all the way around.
Friday night, March 18th, The Koffin Kats and Demon City Wreckers performed to a packed house at Sam's Burger Joint in San Antonio, TX. Also on the bill were Turbo ACs, Million Dollar Marxists and Blood Moon Howlers. DCW received a very warm response from the San Antonio psychos and punks for their first Alamo City gig. Jason from DCW puked right after his set, which means he gave his all to the kids! The Koffin Kats performed to the largest crowd of the night. This was the Kats' second time in San Antonio and it showed! Look for The Koffin Kats to be back in San Antonio this summer for Blood Feast III.
Now available in our webstore is the second album from The Koffin Kats, titled "Inhumane". Fifteen horror-punkabilly songs about sex, drugs and violence. The Koffin Kats are a band that flawlessly combines all the original elements of great psychobilly: punk, rockabilly, and horror movies. I know that I am biased but "Inhumane" is the best psychobilly record I've heard in the last 5 years. In my opinion, it's also the best punk record in the last few years and I know that's a bold statement. The new record shows a maturity of songwriting, musicianship and attitude and that ain't no lie Popeye! We at HairBall8 / PSYCHOBILLY*US are simply thrilled to be releasing the new album by The Koffin Kats. I hope all this does not come off as shitty to the other fantastic bands on our roster. I try not to show bias unless it's called for and I think this new record by The Koffin Kats warrants it. We hope that you all will agree.
All new releases from PSYCHOBILLY*US/HairBall8 have street dates of June 7th... this means The Koffin Kats, The Rocketz, Demon City Wreckers, G-String, Asmodeus, and Uncle Fucker. These releases will be available in our webstore before that, if they're not already. For stores, our distribution is through: Road To Ruin, NAIL, Sounds of California, Interpunk, AEC, Galaxy, Super D, Norwalk, Choke, Arrow, FAB, Rev HQ, Revolver, Scratch, CR Japan, Sonic Union, Lumberjack, Borders, Tower, Virgin and Independent One Stop. Expect to see all bands with new releases on the road this summer in support of their new records!
Next order of business is our recent signings to the HairBall8/PSYCHOBILLY*US label. So we obviously just signed The Rocketz. They got one sick ass album together damn quickly and here we are not even two months later with it available. The Rocketz, many of you may know, have been polishing their songs on a live level for over a year in the So Cal area. Many of you have witnessed the pure adrenaline that is The Rocketz live. These guys know how to write songs and are extremely capable musicians. It's no surprise that their debut full-length CD "Rise of The Undead" is a stomper! Buy it here and look for The Rocketz to hit Texas in early May.
We also recently signed a super-sonic-slap-punk band from France called G-String. This is the singer and double bass player from the dearly departed French psychobilly band Celtix. Read more about G-String and their out-of-this-world second record, titled "Bad Motherfuckers", in the roster section. Look for G-String's "Bad Motherfuckers" to be available in May in our webstore with a June 7th street date for stores worldwide. Also, G-String will tour the U.S. this July with The Koffin Kats. Both bands will be supporting the release of their new albums into stores. G-String launch their U.S. tour with a spot on the highly acclaimed Heavy Rebel Weekender festival taking place over the 4th of July weekend in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
HairBall8/PSYCHOBILLY*US is proud to announce the signing of San Francisco/ Bay Area all-girl psychobilly band The Deadutantes! These fine ladies have a lot going on right now. A super audience response from their recent Southern California shows should be mentioned. Also The Deadutantes debut in Europe on the 2nd at the Satanic Stomp Festival in Germany. They perform on this gi-normous festival on Saturday April 2nd. When the girls return to the States, they'll continue working on the recording of their debut album due out on HairBall8/PSYCHOBILLY*US later this year. Read the brand new bio and see the intriguing photos of The Deadutantes in our roster section!
HairBall8/PSYCHOBILLY*US will also release the 3rd album from Amsterdam psychobilly legends Asmodeus in America in May, just in time for Asmodeus' performance on the American Nightmare festival in Pomona, CA at the end of May. Read more about Asmodeus and hear some of their songs in our roster section. Very proud to have Asmodeus aboard the roster here at PSYCHOBILLY*US.
More info soon about upcoming HairBall8/PSYCHOBILLY*US releases
